Convert CSV to Excel without losing leading zeros

Choose a CSV or TSV, inspect the preview and download Excel. Cells are exported as text by default so account numbers, postal codes and long identifiers keep their original characters.

Example and limitations

Example

The synthetic sample includes 00123, the long ID 123456789012345678, a quoted comma and a multi-line field. In the default Excel export, the ID values stay text and a value such as =1+1 stays literal text.

Limitations

Up to 25 MB. The preview shows the first 50 data rows; export includes the full parsed data. Repairs cannot recover zeros or digits already lost before the file was opened. Converting a column to numbers may remove leading zeros. A CSV opened directly in Excel may be interpreted again.

Keep account numbers and long IDs intact in Excel
